Parting Out

Parting Out
I have a 1991 Maxima SE that was bought and used for front end parts. Now that I am done I've decided to part it out. I put pictures of the car on my website at http://mwb.myip.org . Please E-Mail me with any parts requests or questions. My E-Mail address is maxima@mwb.myip.org .

The previous owner apparantly wanted black wheels. Don't quite know why, they're very ugly. I don't think the paint would be difficult to get off, it's chipping after just washing the car off. In the future I plan on Pressure-washing or a razor to clear the wheels off.

crsmax: not sure yet whether or not I'd want to take the brake calipers off. It's nice to have the vehicle in relatively drivable condition.
808SE: If the car has the splash guards (front at least) they'd be sitting in the trunk. I'll try to check those items out tomorrow.
Brandon90gxe: the car is in relatively good condition except for the hail damage, the interior is in very nice condition. (I'll get back to you on the EECS cover soon...)

some lacquer thinner and a brush is all you'll need to get any "remaining" paint off the wheels after it's been powerwashed. it may or may not take off the clearcoat on top of the aluminum, but this will be the best way not to damage the finish. then you just wipe them down with a clean rag dipped in thinner again, and re-spray with clear coat.

I'm interested in a few things..the spoiler, and the tail lights...I don't need the center piece...also...I know that Chris91se would be interested in your interior..complete...so let me know how much you want for these parts...

Thanks for the interest everyone, but someone is interested in the entire car. I'd prefer to sell it to this person if they would like it. If they decide they do not want it I'll post this thread again.
Thanks again.

Actually it doesn't matter. Has anyone tried to fix it? A bad miss could just be a bad plug, wire, dist. cap or injector. I will be doing a complete engine teardown anyway, so if the miss is valve or cam related, I'll be replacing all that stuff anyway. So how much???

For the engine miss the previous owner replaced the spark plugs and spark plug wires, without success. My father cleaned the distributor contacts, which made the miss a little better, but didn't take it away. Visual inspection of the spark plugs revealed them to be black, indicating that the engine is running rich. After the alternator and A/C compressor were removed the engine miss was MUCH worse. Neither of us knows enough about the problem to recommend a fix that would be guaranteed to work, but that is all the information about it we can provide.
