Parting Out

I have a 1991 Maxima SE that was bought and used for front end parts. Now that I am done I've decided to part it out. I put pictures of the car on my website at http://mwb.myip.org . Please E-Mail me with any parts requests or questions. My E-Mail address is maxima@mwb.myip.org .

The previous owner apparantly wanted black wheels. Don't quite know why, they're very ugly. I don't think the paint would be difficult to get off, it's chipping after just washing the car off. In the future I plan on Pressue-washing or a razor to clear the wheels off.

Got to one of those DIYS car washes with the high pressure rinse. I properly prepped and primed my wheels and that pressure rinse still took the paint off! Sould make easy work if the wheels beneath that black paint are the clearcoated alum. wheels.

I can't tell from the pics on your site, but does this max have splash/mud guards on it? If so I'm looking for both front and rears.

Thanks

crsmax: not sure yet whether or not I'd want to take the brake calipers off. It's nice to have the vehicle in relatively drivable condition.

808SE: If the car has the splash guards (front at least) they'd be sitting in the trunk. I'll try to check those items out tomorrow.

Brandon90gxe: the car is in relatively good condition except for the hail damage, the interior is in very nice condition. (I'll get back to you on the EECS cover soon...)

I want the seats and the inserts in the door that match them. If you could shoot me a price on the frone and back seats and those inserts and tell me what color they are and what type of material I would appreciate it.
Peace

some lacquer thinner and a brush is all you'll need to get any "remaining" paint off the wheels after it's been powerwashed. it may or may not take off the clearcoat on top of the aluminum, but this will be the best way not to damage the finish. then you just wipe them down with a clean rag dipped in thinner again, and re-spray with clear coat.

Thanks for the interest everyone, but someone is interested in the entire car. I'd prefer to sell it to this person if they would like it. If they decide they do not want it I'll post this thread again.

Thanks again.

Sorry. I thought you were parting out, since that's what your post subject line suggested. If you change your mind, nismo1989@aol.com

I was but the possibilty of complete sale arose, and I'd like that better than parting out. I will likely not get as much money, but less work as well.

true, true. Still, keep me in mind for some parts if your buyer doesn't come through.
Peace.

Actually it doesn't matter. Has anyone tried to fix it? A bad miss could just be a bad plug, wire, dist. cap or injector. I will be doing a complete engine teardown anyway, so if the miss is valve or cam related, I'll be replacing all that stuff anyway. So how much???

I'm not going to go after a price right now because there is an interested buyer for the whole car. I'll post what I E-Mailed him about the miss if you want to know anyway.

For the engine miss the previous owner replaced the spark plugs and spark plug wires, without success. My father cleaned the distributor contacts, which made the miss a little better, but didn't take it away. Visual inspection of the spark plugs revealed them to be black, indicating that the engine is running rich. After the alternator and A/C compressor were removed the engine miss was MUCH worse. Neither of us knows enough about the problem to recommend a fix that would be guaranteed to work, but that is all the information about it we can provide.
