Transmission problem?

I've recently noticed that my car is makiing a rather weird noise. Right around 2000 RPM a rattling noise appears but seems to only be between 1800 and 2200. It only happens when in drive, not nuetral or park, that's why it seems to me like a a tranny proble. Does anyone have an idea of what it might be?

Likely a heat shield is loose. Even if no noise occurs in park or neutral. Diveline vibration amy be enough to make it rattle. Crawl under it and jab at the cat shields first, then try all the others.

I had the same kind of problem, when I put it in reverse or drive and gave it a little gas it would rattle. It turned out to be the front hood bumpers one of them was missing and the other was smashed. There are a million things that can cause rattles, but hopefuly this is your problem.
