A cone filter adapter is a cone filter adapter. Cut up something that needs to be recycled that has a flat surface. Old VCRs and other equipment with thin aluminum cases would provide a decent cutable material. Any plastic would be great too, and much easier to cut with simple tools. Go get some pvc pipe to the specifications of the cone filter. Glue it together with the sticky source of choice, then after allowing ample time to settle, perhaps paint it with some ambrosia peach, and then get ready to experience the moment you've worked so hard for.

dont get dat crap, its cheap plastic. i bought 1 and hooked it up wit a 3" cone filter i had and the plastic broke the same day. plus u have to rig the maf part dat connects to dat so it wont move around while u drive. save ur money and get a real one.
not sure if its a 93 accord or civic CAI dat works for our cars.
i got lucky on mine at the junkyard from a max that had one of those adapters but an aluminum one.

the OD of the pvc tube is a lil more then the ID of the filter. i expected that once i figured out that home depot and ace hardware dont have pvc tubing with an OD of 3".. kinda weird.. but w/e. so i settled for sum tubing that had an OD of like 3.25 inches.. its thin wallled stuff so im just gonna take away sum material on the filter. making the pvc tube fit.
heres sum pics.
21.39 after taxes
. and its like a K&N.. you can clean it! hahaha.. teh awsome..
thats the tube. i got like 1ft out of a piece of like 12ft tubing.. the guy at ace hardware was like.. uhhhh.. you sure this is gonna work?.. haha. lookin at me like i was crazy.. anyways.. i had to buy the whole 12ft piece but i told him to cut me off that first foot and to do what he wanted with the rest.. maybe thats why he looked at me like i was crazy. lol.. 7.48 after taxes
this sticker plus the filter.. rated at 15+ hp.
haha

this is a 1st. if it works u'll be the only 1 with it. pretty sure no one else would do it.
btw who knows which honda CAI is the one dat would work wit our car? 93 civic or accord? i kno one works perfect.

Ive got a blue cone filter on my max. The adapter is not even needed. I used the adapter that already comes with the stock air filter, took it apart, and slid my new cone filter over that. How often do you have to clean the thing? Im getting very bad mileage and was wondering if this thing has somthing to do with it. Also I still have the plastic tube attached to my cone filter, was thinking about getting a metal one and would it even make a difference?
if you make your intake short enough you can do liek i did and slide the cone filter on to the maf no couplers needed...think its like 3" or something....In your case above i dont think switching from a plastic intake to metal will help you at all, i believe the metal intake would retain more heat than plastic.... o and i think its the 94-97 accord intake that fits ours well...
alright.. im done..
after much trial and error and 15 bucks in overpriced useless airboxes and pvc tubing.. im done..
i got sum pics but i didnt take pics of everything
heres what happened..
so the hardest part was getting the back plate that blots on to the MAF..
i went to a junkyard and i got an airbox from a sentra.. or a 200sx thinking.. 'well.. the nissan that i know and love would use the same sized MAF on pretty much all engines..'
so i didnt even bother to check.. lol.. im pretty retarded for that..
and i bought the air box and then cut the part that bolts to the MAF for my use.. well. i got home and it turn out its too smalll.. ahhh.. so im like.. okay. i went back and i thought well... a pathfinder has the same VG30 so the MAF hass to be the same. again. i bought the airbox and when i got home it was too big!
i was like wtf...
so i was like well.. i know that the airbox from a maxima works. lol
so i just hacked my own airbox up..
then i bent the little horn on the inside of the box so that the filter would slide up on it.. eliminating the use of my 7 dollars ad 48 cents.. so i actually wasted a bunch of money.. but its all good..
ohh btw.. wtf is this?

red filter.. red valve cover.. very nice
closer shot of it
even closer
here you can clearly see that this is from the airbox.. lmao
remains of my airbox..

Haha, nice. I see you left a chunk of plastic on there. Why not just drill those rivets out and remove the plastic (or shape the plastic to be more aesthetically pleasing).
I did the exact same thing over a decade ago when I was 16 on my original VE:

Also notice the VG strut tower bar that my dad welded extension brackets to in order to clear the VE intake manifold

I rember mine I did when I was 16. Actually still have it lol. Took a extra maf cut off the end that bots to the airbox. Found piece of pvc pipe cut it to around 4 inches. then Just jb welded it in the MAF piece I cut off and bolted it up. Even held up to 7psi lol.
you godamn right!
haha. but a few days ago. when i went to the weekly car meet around here in gwinnett.. the filter partiaally came off the adapter so i asked my friend for sum zipties.. he didnt have any but he did have old weather stripping. haha.. so i just secured the fliter on with weather stripping.. lmao.
