brake resevoir cap
brake resevoir cap
i got my front brakes done a few weeks ago and they replaced the fluid as well, got the rear brakes done today. washed the Max a few hours later, popped the hood, they left the brake fluid reservoir cap on the airbox
it was off for 5 hours and around 5km of driving, moisture or air couldnt have gotten in the system in that time could it?

regardless of how humid it is, that is a long time. I cap between fills when I bleed/flush my brakes.

so i called and said somebody left the brake fluid reservoir cap off, it was 5 hours, etc. he said thats fine
said a friend told me that if its off, water air and debris can get in. apparently, not in that timelinegot someone else to call and say their friend was working on their car and left the cap off, it was
you will get soft pedal in a week or two and things will need replacing, get it flushed asapthey flushed it though, any permanent damage from this?
you'll be fine.
If that happens again (or to anyone else) just suck the fluid out of the reservoir with a turkey baster or a baby snot sucker thingy (remember those little blue bulbs?), and refill the Mc with fresh fluid. all will be good.

^ good post. im glad i made this thread because googling this, i could barely find a answer. literally 90% of threads with this issue on other car forums were just from idiots who pop their hood every 8 months, and the brake cap was missing for who knows how long, not just a few hours like me. thank god its fine, i was worried about permanent damage
