Well here is something for all to check out instead of reading about others problems. Since I'm waiting on funds for another motor I decided to try and complete something else while waiting. Big difference.

I'm still not done. I have to obviously finish the drivers side floor and door as well as the trunk. Before the trunk I will add the Ensolite (sound absorbent cloth) to the cabin along with new padding and carpet I have.
i dont get it...
why have music so loud? you can't hear anything that way... i love hearing the engine and every squeak and squeak of the car.
psss. i dont even my head unit plugged in in my car

yea i'm that way too... my truck doesn't have a headunit at all right now (its sitting somewhere under a pile of stuff in the garage) and the Subie's engine is too damn quiet with the stock airbox. I shift by sound/vibration so if all i can hear is the music, then it throws off my shifting. Especially with the numbness of the drive-by-wire gas pedal in the Subie.... At least in the truck i can "feel" the motor through the pedal
I'm doing it not because my music will be so loud but mostly for ride quality. Less road noise and when the stereo is on its just the music. Don't get me wrong I love the sound of the VE but with all of this (soild filled mounts) the vibration of the motor won't resonate through out the car anymore. Making it a bit more comfortable and enhancing my sound quality for my audio.

The car sounds and feels a bit more solid since doing this. Its more of a preference obviously. Hell Matt did it (not trying to follow him) so I'm not the first and not alone. I will more than likely post a vid Sunday evening of me doing a knock test to show the comparison. Along with pics of the driver side completed. Just thought I would share.

I think it's fine to sound deaden your car. It should be free of rattles when you listen to music, especially if you like a little extra bass. It is also nice to have it really quiet on the freeway. That is one reason I really dislike Hondas. They don't use much sound deadening in them and they are almost all loud on the freeway. This is a big reason I keep buying luxury cars now -- I have had three Infinitis and a BMW. They are heavier and quieter.
The only downfall is the added weight. If you ever want to race, it will slow you down a tiny bit and your mpg will be ever so slightly less.

solid mounts on a stickshift car are just amazing aren't they? I had solid metal ones on mine, and it was CVT-smooth, for the shifting at least. A little rattling and buzzing at idle, but well worth it for the improvement in shift quality. Until i found out that i made them out of metal that was too thin and the rear mount broke

aww yeah fasho I agree with that "dead"..what you say..breath baby breath!..Whatup Bro!..North Florida maxima's rule!!!
