Thanks!

Thanks for the comments! This car really is my favourite Maxima.

When it comes time to be able to afford the wheels, I will probably sell my stock ones.

the *** end definatly. although I do prefer the middle piece on the 89-91 se's. the red tinted center piece just does nothing for me

Other than that, the whole design of the car is very clean.

Any of you guys think the wheelbase and tire width increased might help the looks? I've been looking at my GXE from the rear for a few weeks and I've started to notice that with the stock tires (how wide are they 6.5 or 7?) it just doesn't seem to fit. You guys know what I mean? Look at a BMW 3, 5 or 7 series 4dr. The tires are wider and they have a very mean looking look to them. I've been wondering how it might look with 17x7.5 or 18x8.5 (I don't want 18's though) and maybe if you got a spacer so the wheels stuck out less than a 1/2 inch (to line up with those stock fender flares). I'm not talking some ghetto wheels out 4" from the side but I'm trying to figure out how to get that mean BMW stance. Any ideas?

Well "wheelbase" is the center-to-center length of the chassis between the front and back wheels, so I'm guessing that's not what you mean. I think you mean "track" which is the chassis width. The tires are 205 width in mm, which isn't very wide these days. It's also fairly tall at 65 percent of the tread width. You could always try a high-performance 215/60 tire, which will shorten the height and widen the tire, making it bulge out more. (It's on a 6" rim by the way.) Usually if you upgrade to 17" or so rims they look aggressive enough and bulge out enough without any help. It also helps if you go with the wider 225 or 235 width rubber people like to use with these rim sizes. Some people (like Jeff92se and Mr.Rose) have 17" Mustang rims and 235/45 on their cars. They have only +30mm offset so they stick out quite a bit. I have a pic of Jeff's car (somewhere!) if you can't find one.

The whole thing is very clean looking. I like that it seems to never get too outdated looking. I like the low front end also. The back end is much better than the 4th gen's.

Bman, thats what I meant. I didn't remember what it was called so I just said wheelbase. Thanks for the help. That makes complete since on the tire sizes you mentioned. I've seen other 3rd gen's and I could never figure out why my tires look wider than their's and its the stock 6" wide wheel. I'm just glad I finally got my ST springs and Tokico's. Now my max has a much meaner stance. Do any of you know if 17x8.5 is a very uncommon wheel size? I always see 17x7 and 17x7.5 but 8.5 would be great for what I want. I don't want to get 18's since it's too big for me but I wanted some wide wheels. I guess 7.5 should be good too.

BTW, isn't the 92se the fastest maxima 0-60? I remember searching for 0-60 times and I saw a list that had a 92se as doing 6.5sec 0-60. I think they said it was from Car & Driver. If that time isn't right, maybe the driver just shifted like a **** since that's as fast as a n/a 90+ 300zx! Now I gots to get me a 92se!
