I haven't had any good luck with the universal-type *****.
I went back to my original ****, after a few different ones.
the better (expensive) ***** that are threaded for the shaft should be fine, but I am confident that "cheap" won't work well for ya.

Yeah, I never had luck with the cheap stuff either. I got a nismo shift **** from the dealership. Got it on "sale" for $60.

I'm sad to report that my Mitsu shift **** nowadays keeps loosening up and now is to the point where it won't adequately tighten back down and just "spins" constantly

You sure you want an aluminum one? In theory they're cool, but you'll hate it the first time you melt your hand off in the summer..

I loved my old 2001 Maxima Anniversary Edition shiftknob. Leather with an aluminum insert with the correct shift pattern etched in it, can't beat it IMHO.

I loved those too but they were such crap. They'd start flaking/peeling off in not even a year or two. So I won't be wasting money again on that

+1 on the Mitsu shift ****. I remember when it was first posted on here years ago, and looked it up. Fits nicely on the 240. I lucked out too, the seller on eBay accidentally shipped out a 2nd ****. I told him about it (didn't wanna be a d***) but he told me to keep it anyways. So if my first one ever craps out, I still have a freshly wrapped one in my closet.

I just purchased one of these for my Z:

http://www.knobmeister.com/page14.ph...27&category=1#

It's an engraved Team Voodoo shift ****; they make them mostly for Miatas, but they have the same thread form as Nissans. It has a good feel and weight to it.

I also have an AE shift **** laying around if someone wants to pay for shipping The clearcoat is flaking/peeling off the top, which I remember reading is typical...
