Stock cd player?

I wanted to get a stock looking cd player for the 3rd gen. I read a post where they talked about ones fitting nicely but most of the links are dead so I wasn't able to see which one they were talking about. If I were to buy one, which one would I get?

Whats the reason for a stock looking one?

People over here like to bust people's windows out and steal aftermarket cd players. If it looked stock, I highly doubt they would try to steal it.

Oh you want to make a false face plate. I'm actually looking also because I've been planning on doing this for about a year and a half now.

I could have swore I have seen a post about puting the 4th gens in the 3rd and it would fit decently to look stock. I like the look of stock and unfortunately they didn't have cd players back then. I guess I can try myself to see.

Actually they did have cd players (these cars aren't that old). I swore too when trying reference for my own research a while back. If you google false face plate there are a few sites that actually have how to's.

why dont you get something with a removable faceplate? most of them are, when you are parked at a shady location just remove it or get a head unit that doesnt stand out.

Would you be interested in this: its a Sony Single-disc add-on FM modulated CD player that I had in my 92 back in 2001, I had it connected to the stock headunit, kept it in storage all these years. Very stealthy and OEM'ish looking.
