spring compressor would help , um, get that. . . and if i were you some air tools, otherwise it's gonna be a long and painful process. . .IMHO. maybe i'm just getting lazy. I do have a question though, how do you get the rear struts out of the housing? is there a lock bolt? i havne't looked too closely yet, but i'm gonna change mine out soon. .. i'll post on it later.

Get some spring compressors from autozone or O'reilies and use a floor jack to lower/raise the rear struts. BTW mark the strut mount orenation (sp?) with the upper spring cap and spring. Basically draw like 1-3 lines so you can properly line up each part.

that is a darn good question. i don;t know if the is a locking mech on there or not. I have acess to the tools, i just don't have the know how as of right now, I wanted to hear some input on that. and i dont want to let our local Rippoff "MAjor Brands" install for me. What is the best type of strut? Does anyone have a fav. Type? what giev you the best stability?

Yeah, the rears are a pain. We just did mine today, well fronts too.

To get the gland packing nut off the top of the rear strut housing you are going to need a really big wrench. We used a plumbers wrench and it worked great.

luck!

Make sure to get some new dust boots or make your own out of duct tape when you do it.
