3rd GEN ECU DECODER!!!! with links
3rd GEN ECU DECODER!!!! with links
After acouple days of research and pulling my hair out I finally came across what I needed but still having some issues with decoding.
First thing first I will share the links to the website that is simple and easy and shows you where to find the ecu in the car.
http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecu.html --
Keep in mind the direction of the ECU can be different. In my 93 SE it was facing the passenger side.

You punch in the sequence of the codes into the search and it pulls it up for you. Easy simple and AWESOME!!!!!
http://forums.nicoclub.com/ses-cel-c...n-t126534.html --
This link tells you what the codes are, and some of the codes aren't on the second link.
OK now that that is out of the way, My ECU spit out 2 long 3 short 4 short 5 short 1 long
So i think its one of these? --
23 Idle switch (throttle valve switch) signal circuit open
24 Park/netural switch malfunctioning
25 Idle speed control valve circuit is open or shorted
But I'm thrown off by the sequence any help?
My car feels like it has an intake leak serious loss of power and its slugs passed 2K rpms almost like at 50% power. Going up hill if i cruising at 50 MPH its will bog down to 30 MPH.
Any advice and help would be awesome.

What you have described in your last post, for a GXE ECU, is the mode selector when the screw on the ECU screw is first turned clockwise. If you want to check for codes, you need to turn the screw back counterclockwise right after the three short blinks. Then the LEDs will will blink the code it has.
Ok when i first put the car into on in the ignition and the screw is all the clockwise its blinks 2 long then 3 short both leds at the same time. Then after the 3 short i turn counterclockwise and blinks 5 short red then 5 short green.
GXE? I was told it was an SE. Lol there are no markings on the or no mention of type on any paperwork.
Either way wants to cut out in reverse and when in park idles really low.

Ok read some old posts about different style maxima. Idk if mechanic is thrown of by the style or what but i think it is a gxe. Mune, doesnt have a spoiler or fog lights that should come standard, in the se. I do have the allow wheels full bose system with cd player and my mechanic says i have the stiffer suspension. I coudnt tell the difference never been in another 3rd gen. But hes done everything on this car since it was bought. Idk lol

Your mechanic has no clue. If he knew anything about these cars, he would just look at the engine and know precisely which model you have, regardless of what wheels were on it or any other cosmetic things. If he doesn't know the difference, he also won't know which suspension components are on it, either.
For your year of car:
VE30DE -- DOHC (SE model)
VG30E -- SOHC (GXE model)
I don't even have to look, but I am pretty sure you have a GXE with some SE wheels.

haha its is a vg30e! Gave the guy a call and was like wtf... He laughed at me 8( lol. Long story short he knew its was gxe, I heard what i wanted to hear pretty much...
Lol
Anywho, i got rid of the check engine light this morning before i left for work. Ran ok, still turned off in reverse but ran normal.
But on the way home after about 45 miles of driving it felt like it shifted hard and the check engine light came on again... Lame. anyone have that happen before?

The 5 red and 5 green means that you got a code 55, meaning that everything is running fine. But the fact that you have problems and the check engine light goes off it's not really running fine. The best you can do is that when the check engine light goes on, immediately get the code before the bad part reports back that it's fine and keeps reporting 55.
Tried that this morning and still says normal. The car is barely drivable. Wasnt going to risk driving 100 miles today.
Car feels like it has an intake leak or if its flooding.

Ok after playing with the car the intake spark plugs i realized that when the car is on you can adjust the idle... Makes sense because it says idle adjust on the dang ecu! But it seems to move while driving. Is it supposed to move easy?
The car ran fine so far this morning. Sounds like a lawnmower now. Hope its a header leak or something easy fix and cheap. still slugish geting it past 55 once its at 60 65 acceleration is smooth and responsive.
It sounds like you have some other issues, though.
