Ok so tell me if this is a good idea.
family friend owns a 1994 maxima with 158x miles, rebuilt tranny with around 30x miles on it and overall the car is in pretty good condition think its worth the 1800 he is asking for i mean the car starts like it brand new ill give em that!

Yeah, I agree -- it depends on the "actual" condition of the car.

Does it have rust, engine problems, things that don't work, worn out interior, bald tires, faded paint, anything like that?

If it runs and drives good and has good tires and good tags, I would think it's worth $1800.

Listen to see if you can hear any leaks from the exhaust manifold - cold it will sound like a tick tick tick and it may go away when warm.

The exhaust manifolds studs are prone to breaking and fixing them is outragaous in cost and/or effort.

I'm with the others in what they offer up, good advise

Make sure it's an SE & NEVER PAY WHAT IS ASKED FOR. AT that price it would have to have no issues; glossy condition & excellent interior.

If it's not a 5speed then it's definitely too much!!
