Ahh after 2 days, my custom trunk setup is DONE.. i really enjoyed it, my friend Dan and I started from scratch and this is what we got. Im really impressed and thrilled because i must say it came out perfect. We even installed a fan to cool and red LED's around to make it glow. It might not be the biggest setup, but im happy with what i got. Heres the pics..no the plexy isnt cracked.. the pic just came out that way..

Just one sub? Why not 2?

Eh, it's better than what I got. I don't even have any subs, so I'll give ya props on that.

Nice clean install... did you cut the particle board under the trunk carpet so you still have access to your spare tire?

I used to think that too, but a lot of times you can find one high quality sub with the same RMS as you would in two moderate quality subs...thats my take on it!

actually, this one 12 hits surprisinly well. iv had people in my car who cant believe all of the bass is coming from 1 12", and even though people knock MTX.. ive been really impressed with my stuff.. lasted me over a year so far too....

oh yea.. i didnt cut the particle board, but i can stil pull it up far anough to access the spare.. not a bad idea though..

Looks clean, and best of all is you keep a lot of trunk space. Nice work.

on the matter of 1 12 versus 2 12s, I recently got my stuff installed and compared it with my friends. I have 1 12 Alpine Type R in a sealed box with a JBL 600.1 in an 89 GXE. My friend has 2 12 Kicker Comp VRs with a ZR360? in a sealed box, 92 325i. Mine hits just as hard and is only a little bit less loud with no rattles. When I first got it and he heard it , he asked me if I had 2 12s so......

Looks really good especially if it was crafted during night hours. I also like NGTHING's install too.

I think that you did a very good job and it looks really nice. A couple questions though, what kind of amp is that? and What do you use to keep that trunk from rattling? I have one 15 in mine and I put foam in the trunk truces with a Dynomat layer on the lid and it still kinda rattles. So i was just wondering what you used to keep it from rattling.

its not really fair to judge between 1 12 vs 2 12's unless you're running the same equipment in both, i know alot of people with 1 12, that cannot even come close to compete with me... but that doesnt make my system the loudest in the world
