sounds like maybe the fuel pump is on its way out, get a fuel pressure gauge and see what its reading. beforehand, you can check spark

if you give it a bit of throttle does it keep running?

At full throttle doesn't make a difference

What I did was uninstall the old fuel pump and plug in just the positive n negative on the new pump, turn the key and it turn on. It took 10 minutes to do. But man that put look original from factory. I'm buying a used one for $20 for now. Cuz I'm getting a upgrade fuel pump for my turbo setup I'm working on now.

You can just install a 255lph FP now so you don't have 2 worry bout used pump failing.

I don't believe OEM ones are the same. Aftermarket might be the same for all third gens though, not sure.

You know you can always look up answers to these types of questions up right? Go to one of the online Nissan parts places (nissanpartszone.com, Courtesy, etc) and look up whichever part for both VG and VE, if it's the same part number it's the same part..

I bought one recently and I was looking at part numbers because I was wondering about this too. They are different from the factory, but some aftermarket ones are listed for both cars. Not sure why Nissan took the time to do that and then used the same MAF sensor for both engines?... I don't see why either fuel pump would not be usable for both applications, but I could be wrong.

just use a VG fuel pump even if it is the same as a VE fuel pump, VG will be way more common than VE

Right now I'm looking for either a good standalone or a piggy back to tune the motor. And researching for upgrade injectors. I've got everything else. I have a shop making a custom turbo manifold for me when I'm ready to install everything.

Nistune or JimWolfTechnology, Nistune is better if you can handle things yourself. JWT you have to get reflashed if you change anything

Yes you can use them. Might have to use the vg rail and make diff mounting points not 100% on that. You will have to change the injector plug due to them being the old style.

no...don't have JWT reflash your ECU...just don't do it. unless you want to be down for like 3 months. thanks clark and ben for sitting on my ECU and gave me a kraptastic tune afterwards.

I look it up and it looks like nistune type 3 is the only chip made for ve30de. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It's sort of a plug n play , you really don't have to wiring up the motor at all.

The website say type 3 controls ve.

Just saw a video on how to solder the chip. Easy to do. I will be doing it myself.
