Re: Fuel Pump Questions

Fuel PUMP check:
Pull the fuse on the FUEL PUMP in the fuse box should be top right.
Turn on vehicle. Then replace fuse, should hear FUEL PUMP spin-up (whiney nose), if not, possible problem.

Sometimes the connections to the fuel rail leak, mine did when the temp. got cold. Follow the fuel filter (<---replace?) to the center of the engine to locate the fuel rail. You'll find two lines supply and return to the fuel tank, check the hose clamps for both. Snug or replace clamps or fuel line.

NOTE: Be sure to relieve the fuel pressure and remove the negative battery cable before messing with the fuel lines. Get the HAYNES manual!!!

Another suspect would be the presure regulator. Hangs off the right side of the fuel rail and is connected to supply fuel line. Be sure the rubber vacuum line isn't ripped or disconnected.

Later ToM ;-)
