CAI Pics

Does anybody have pictures of the hole that you have to cut in the fender wall? Mine should be here next week. Also, is the hole noticeable? Like could you see it from the outside.(i.e. If I were looking at my car from the side would I be able to see a 3 inch hole in the side of my car). One more thing, would a Nissan Dealership be able to install for me or do you guys think I should save the money and do it my self. Thanks, Richard

No, you can't see it from outside the car. If you feel comfortable cutting into your own car, sure you can do it.

I don't think a dealership would be up for that kind of work, unless you know someone who works there. Take it to a local speed shop if you don't want to cut into your baby.

Scares the hell out of me.

Its little wonder your scared when contemplating chopping into the most immaculate and original 3rd Gen engine bay I've ever seen.

Stop, I'm blushing! Now I feel bad because it's kinda dirty, time to wash!

I'd actually rather just do a cone intake and move the battery to the trunk so I could make an isolation box for the filter.

Nice, thats the direction I wish I'd gone with mine. Heat shielded airbox behind the headlight w/CA feed. Even had a guy offer to fab this set-up for me just after I'd installed the PR CAI.

I still enjoyed having the fender CAI, but knowing the filter was getting soaked in heavy rain always gave me the creeps.

it doesn't get that wet...i've actually taken my filter out after driving in heavy rain for awhile and yes it was moist but it wasn't soaked or drenched...

..so have I, and mine was dripping wet on more than one occasion. Theres alot of variables to consider like how hard the rain is, whether your following traffic, time driving in it etc etc.

Never experienced anything nasty going on when it was wet, only thing that seemed to happen was the idle speed increased from around 7 to 900.

Don't get me wrong I liked the mod overall, but theres other ways of getting the same result.

How? I'm ignorant to speed stuff, so you'll have to educate me.
