...how to tell if maybe i already have some performance suspension stuff on my car? I got it from a dealer who knew no history on it. I do know that i cannot press down on my front fenders more than like an inch and my ride is VERY stiff. Were stock SE's very stiff? Anyone know the stock ride height for a 90 SE?

Thanks!

why dont you just take the wheel off and look to see if there are aftermarket springs, sways, struts, etc.

I looked...

and it looks stock under it. Thats why im asking i know the sway bars are stock. Eh i guess it was a stupid question but it seems to be very stiff if its got factory replacement stuff on it.

It also depends on how old "mileage-wise" the shocks/springs are. My 90SE when my dad gave me the car had the original shocks (pathetic) with 142K miles on them. Let's put it this way: When I put my Tokico's and ST drop springs on, It made the ride feel smooth compared the the way they were before. To answer your question, yes the SE has stiff shocks, even stiffer if you have the SONAR II suspension option. You would think that STOCK, the MAX would handle well because of the stiff shicks, but since it weighs around 3200lbs stock, the weight overcomes the handling ability of the shocks/springs and the wheels/tires. Does that help?
