1992 Maxima SE. I need help identifying a part under the hood. It is a small black box that is probably 2 inches by 3 inches and about 3 inches tall. It is on the passenger side near the front, it is right behind the window washer fluid fill neck. It is also right next to a silver box with steel lines running in and out of it (they almost look like brake lines for a visual). My battery died and I don't know what caused it. When I plugged in my battery charger, a sound came from that black box. Kind of a whirring sound almost like there is a little motor in there or something. I'm wondering if this motor (or whatever it is) got stuck on and that's what drained my batter. Oh yeah, the black box has a phillips screw on top and a tab on both sides for removing it. If you can post a picture that would helpful. Also the unit with a bunch of lines coming out of it is your ABS hydro unit.

My guess is that it could be the actuator for the ABS.

Really need a photo to make an accurate call.
