Warpspeedperformance Y pipe update
#1
I just had a nice talk with Kaleb, all went well with his install of our aluminized Y pipe. We talked about removing the integral hanger support in favor of leaving the factory hanger at the catalytic converter. He says the Y pipe fit and he had plenty of clearance for his sway bar and that it did not hit anywhere under acceleration.
I am sure he will post more later about how it felt and how the install went, we are pleased with his response and the results he experienced.
We have 4 or 5 aluminized steel Y pipes in stock now and are running a batch of stainless Y pipes this week.
We are looking forward to the Dallas Meet and will have some of our gen3 pipes with us (as well as 2 versions of our gen 4 for test purposes and possibly a gen 5) as well as cats, cat-backs and mid pipes.

Answers RE: Warpspeedperformance Y Pipe
Canuck: I believe Kaleb installed it (the Y pipe) to a stock catalytic converter, the flanges are the same size, only the ID of the flanges is different. We designed the Y pipe to have a slip flange on the rear to make the install easier because you can turn it to fit the flange on the cat. We ship internationally as well by the way. The pipe weighs about 12-13# in a box. I think he might dyno it at the Dallas meet, but you will need to ask him. We plan to have a couple different cat set-ups to dyno in Dallas.
MSK: we have not installed a stainless pipe yet, however they are the same dimensions and size and are made on the same jig as the aluminized steel version, the flanges are mild steel the rest is "4" series stainless. We use the "4" series stainless because it has better flex properties than the 304 stainless. The 304 polishes real nice but is too rigid for the Y pipe application.

Be sure to bring an alumized Y to dallas with my name on it..
I've also got an extra MAF sensor that I pulled the screens on and I want to dyno the differences there, then I'll dyno the new Y with whichever MAF sensor shows the best #s..
guess I just better remember to bring my tools so I can do the exchange, eh?
