pulling fuse?

hey all,

i'm going to be leaving my car in a less than nice area of town for a day or two and i was wondering...

since i have the factory tape player (sheesh, i'm poor) i doubt anyone would bust into my maxima for the system. but seeing as this is something like the 8th most stolen car in the u.s. any suggestions on pulling a certain fuse or something rather simple to disable my car, prevent it from starting?

keep in mind i don't want to have a full set of tools with me to get it started again =)

thanks folks!

i think the factory alarm disables the car to start unless opened with the key or something like that, im not sure though.

well,

if i'm not mistaken the factory alarm only goes of if the locks are tampered with...and doesn't affect being able to start the car at all...though i may be wrong. my power locks don't quite work right anyways (when i attempt to unlock the drivers side door by pulling up on the lever from the inside it just fights with me).

i did buy this car used in november and it had a sticker on the firewall about a remote starting device, which i do not have the keychain remote for. i do have a plain black switch on the inside of the car, which doesn't appear to be a killswitch but rather just an on/off switch for the remote starter (which i can't really test since i don't have the starter).

what i am thinking is if i could maybe pull a fuse or disconnect something easy before i let my beautiful little car sit unattended, that might dumbfound any would be joyrider into yanking a honda accord or something instead... =) *sorry*

but thanks, i'll go find my owners manual again...it has something in there about it...

If you can find the fuse for the fuel pump, that's always a classic candidate. Seeing how you have a GXE, if you want to do something really radical you could always pull out the distributor rotor or something!

you could pull the coil wire from the spark plug set.

hey thanks ngthing!

that's actually a great idea...hard to start a car with no spark, eh =)

taking out the rotar is a good idea as well...reminds me of the mr. bean car, where he takes the steering wheel off and with him =)

thanks for the ideas!
