VQ 3rd Gen. or '00????
#1
Is it possible or practical to put a VQ into a 3rd gen?? I am looking for weight savings, smoother engine, and more bolt on possibilities. IT is either that or put up with the ugly styling of the new '00 max. Also off the subject, does the VE have the same exhaust stud probs. of the VG? I have heard about exhaust studs but I thought it didn't apply to VE's. Are the new max's really any faster than mine? 0-60 times are identical it seems @ 6.7 sec. If I am going to drop 25 G for one it had better blow my car away.

I am pretty sure exhaust studs are a problem for both VE and VG alike.
It would be a huge pain to get a VQ in a 3rd gen and probably not worth it. You won't notice too much difference from your max to a 2k max, but the 2k has lots more options for modding (S/C, etc)
I would recommend getting a 4th gen and supercharging that for best performance from a max for your $

Re: Exh manifolds
I disagree. Reason? Becuase I personally experienced exhust stud problems w/ my VE. The VE and VG both share the weak studs.
