Will those fit....? It's hard to say for sure, but if you went with tires no wider than 215 or 225 I would hazard a guess at yes... Simply because those 17x8 Mustang rims fit 235 tires okay with their 30mm offset, so if your rims stick 5mm further out, but your tires are at least 5mm narrower each side it should work in theory....

Of course if you want to be a pioneer you could always buy them, try them and if they work, TERRIFIC! If they rub slightly you can always try selling them used locally (assuming they have useful treadlife left) and get narrower tires. This is kinda unexplored territory AFAIK.

I say no. They are 1/2" wider than mine and they stick out 5mm more than mine. Plus on 8.5" rims, you must run at least 245s on there. So that's another 10mm of treadwidth(more like 5mm on each side)
If they do fit by some miracle, it would DAMN CLOSE.

Wow Kaleb was right. Jump on tirerack's site for complete description of "offset" that I don't want to write.

Ouch Jeff! Here's my favourite simple explaination of offset: http://www.whalentire.com/faqs.cfm#offset
Offset's just a measure of how far the wheel sticks in/out in relation to the mounting hub. Just like that old word "backspacing" except it's independant of wheel width, neatly kicking "backspacing"'s butt!
BTW, you should check into what kind of offset your Cherokee needs before trying to slap the Modas on there. You might also need different hub rings if it's hubcentric like the Max is... (let me know if you have hub rings btw, I'm curious if they come with the wheels like they supposedly should).
