Headlight issues

Headlight issues

I bought my maxima back in September and i dont know much about the 3rd gens but my passenger side high beam doesnt work even after putting in a new bulb then to test it i tried the old bulb and the new one on the driver side and high beams worked does anyone know what would cause this to happen

Just a suggestion but have you checked the connector on the harness for corrosion or possibly a broken wire?

both sides are spliced in where the sockets have been replaced but i checked and its not shorting out or grounding out on anything and each individual wire is wrapped in electrical tape

no i lost it last time i moved but im half tempted to just go to the junkyard and get a headlight switch im thinking it could be a problem with the switch its self

The combination switch on the steering column is bad. Time to head to the junkyard or buy one on eBay

Each headlight has its own fuse. They are 15 amp fuses and are under the hood in the fusible link box.

I checked it twice and even swapped the fuses for left and right the headlights work but the highbeam doesnt so it wouldnt be the fuse

That is what im thinking it is im going to wait for the snow to clear up a little before i go to the junkyard we got 9 inches of snow yesterday it would be a pain to have to walk halfway across the yard through that not knowing if there is anything under the snow that i can trip over
