please help asap. pleaseeeeeee

Alright I've already searched through everything in the forums for advice on my bose and I've read tons of different things. I am wondering if i can keep my bose speakers (doors and rear) and just change out the CD DECK and then add my own SUBS and an AMP? I asked a bunch of people and got different replies from all of them. If I can keep my speakers, is there anything extra i'll need to buy to make everything work? Someone mentioned fuses? I dunno. Thanks guys.

you can keep your factory speakers and just add a deck. I did it with no problems. Except you will have to bypass the factory amps on your speakers because the power of them and the cd amplifer is too much for the bose.

What I've read is that you can get an adapter to allow you to replace the head unit and keep the Bose speakers with their amps. You cannot really use the Bose speakers without their amps because the speakers are 1 ohm impedance, whereas most non-Bose amps expect speakers that are 4-8 ohms (or sometimes 2 at a minimum). I've not heard of any impedance matching transformers available for adapting the Bose speakers to 4 ohms (although it could be done).

So if you want to put in your own amps, then you must replace the speakers. If you just want to change the head unit, then you can get an adapter.

For more information, do a web search on "nissan maxima bose ohm".

don't get into the adaptor game, you'll be sorry.

put in a new deck with a wiring harness.

buy my speakers that directly replace the front door speakers (see sig)

buy some 6x9's for the back

bypass all amps

buy some subs and an amp

I did all that with my max and i loved it.

I also mounted tweets in the front doors and they sounded excellent.

those come with the speakers i am selling

I didn't do any of the wiring for my audio but I know I still have my Bose in the doors and the rear deck. And I know they are NOT hooked into the main amp that supplies the subs. And I know I did not pay for any extra wiring harness. I have had it like this since 95, and I went through 2 heads since. So to answer your question and to reup crowghost, it can be done without a wiring harness.
