Flex Plate.

I know I haven't posted in a while about my car problems, but just as I passed my California SMOG, I have a new issue...

Have anyone broken a flexplate before? I know it's Autotragic but this is the VE's Auto.
The sound of the grinding was horrible, I saw sparks between the transmission and the engine.
The good news its that the engine just have the VTC clack.

What's up bro. Haven't had my 3rd gen for years, but was looking on here for some wiring diagrams as I want to install some leftover parts from my 3rd gen on my Isuzu Vehicross. Anyway, I've recently broke my V-cross flex plate while towing uphill a load that it really wasn't designed for. The thing snapped off, leaving a ring on the engine output shaft, so it happens, although very rarely from what I hear. Even after replacing the flex plate, I discovered that the tranny was pretty much blown. Wouldn't shift most of the time and was leaking fluid. So my two cents is that if your flex plate was subjected to a load strong enough to break it, I would definitely check the tranny. Might also be a good time to convert to a manual, which is what I did. Good luck man.

Yep you hit the nail on the head.
After getting a locksmith on my car because they broke the key.
The torque converter bolts were stripped... then the pointed out that there is a hole in my bellhousing. My AT is toast. currently sourcing for a new one. The manual conversion is being temping. I don't know how much that will cost me.
