Maxima Failed to sell

106K miles Black SE manual.
Bid to $9000
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...n-maxima-se-5/

Is the seller on these forums? What made you not sell it at that price? Is it because one sold for $11,000?

It looks like he bought it a year prior for 11k and was hoping to get his money back or make a few bucks.

Wow! I didn't notice to take a look at the VINs. Thanks. I think you answered that part of the question.
I did not know BaT keeps a history on the car.

I like how BAT is transparent, and shows that the car was sold two times previously on BAT. Links are provided in the description.

Not surprise at all, since the comment section I read I whole heartily agree with the statement cuz parts are impossible since I, for one, have a 93 maxima I had to get an engine and parts for it they are getting scarce. So cost for the car for over 20 yr old jap car is not exactly a collector for eyes of bidders

Critical components of the VE engine are no longer available anywhere, for any price. The J30 platform is well over 30 years old now and will never be an "investment" or valuable to collectors. Pristine and unmolested examples may demand a premium to the right buyer. However, the example in this thread aptly demonstrates how very limited that market is. The old school 3rdGen fans, a few of which still occasionally post on this forum, are all to aware of the limitations of the platform, the lack of parts, and the other quirks and gremlins. I've found, as have many others, that these cars are best seen in my memories, as for me at least - they take me back in time when the world and I were different. I suspect that purchasing one now would just be...disappointing.

I'm not sure how this can be true. A 1985 Cressida sold for 20K, though it did had 10K miles on it. I'm not sure, aside from the VTC solenoids and VE front Hubs, what is this car lacking in parts. How far is the VE and the VG30DE?
But I think the car is under-appreciated for the collector FWD cars, but then again most FWD cars don't really get a following. Civic might be the most popular one but they came in multiple body styles.

Now since Grand Turismo 6 has a 85 Accord in it, I think it's about time Maxima should be in the game. Hot Wheels already released a Maxima Wagon Drift Car.

i think if you can fabricate fully custom stuff it would be ok.. idk, i just think of even older hotrods and choppers, but maybe they still have aftermarket parts w more of a scene

I could have sworn that I saw and old Accord sold for 40K... or maybe that I confused it with the mileage.
But recently, a Maxima GXE sold for $10500. Someone still appreciate these cars.
