I have not been successful at removing the distributor rotor. I have removed the screw that holds it to the shaft and still cannot slide it off the shaft. I have even tried rotating the rotor to where it makes contact with the # 1 spark plug..but still no luck.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

if you turned the rotor you will have to readjust the timing!!! the rotor should just pop off. find a flat blade screwdriver and put it underneath to give you a bit more leverage to pop it off. I had no problems geting it to slide off.
