Is this possible? If so what would i need? Just a body with a blown engine from a 300Z?

DAMN, sorry to tell you now, but i meant the 300Z from 90-99. What are the diff... I heard that they are the same engines, no? And by the way, what is the name of the 89' maxima engine? Is it VG or VE? I have a 89' blown engine that i would love to swap into a 300Z body

89 Maxima engine is a VG30E.
90-99 Z engine is VG30DE (dual overhead cam version with same block).
the blocks are the same, but the Z engine is a different beast in every other aspect.
1. it has piston oil squirters machined into the block.
2. forged crankshaft,
3. higher compression (diff pistons and rods),
4. DOHC head design (Max is SOHC)..
5. blah blah blah..
6. the list goes on.
Just out of curiosity, why would you want to do this anyway? the VG30DE in the 90-96 Z puts out 222 HP from the factory. the VG30E in the Maxima only puts out 160.

I was wondering the same thing,. Although the conversation changed pase for a min. I have to agree totally with him. Why would you want to put a 160 hp engine into a 300zx. if i were you, i would want to put a 300zx engine into a MAX. Now that would rock.

nope.. the 85-89 Z engine is very similar (i.e. read the engine swap page linked above)... you bolt on the Z intake and exhaust manifolds and move some stuff around and you're done.
the Z32 (90+ Z) is a completely different beast.
and for the thousandth time for the other dude (without trying to sound rude). A 90+ 300ZX ENGINE WILL NOT FIT IN OUR ENGINE BAY. IT'S TOO BIG.
thank you, drive through please.
