My Alarm:
The amber security light does not come on at all. I have changed the control module two times. No luck. The keyless pad works fine. Can open windows,trunk and doors. Replaced the anti-theft relay in the engine box too.
Cruise Control:
The light on the switch comes on when I turn on the cruise switch but the cruise light does not come on in the console. The set switch on the steering will does not activate. The cruise control did come on one time after I toggled the cruise and set switch several times but kept flashing for a while then cutoff.
Specs: 1993 Maxima GXE.
Nither systems have ever worked since I bought the car two years ago. Did not think of testing at dealership since i had a 1987 Max before that worked fine and even talked to me if I did not shut the door or tried to drive on E if you know what I mean.

 

IF YOUR ALARM AND IT'S ACCESORYS WORK THAN YOU NEED A BULB UNLEDD YOU DAMAGED IT'S POWER SOURCE(WIRE+ OR GROUND-) AS FAR AS THE CUSE CONTROL I WAS CONFUSED, DOES IT WORK AND THE LIGHT DOSNT GO ON? OR IS IT NON OPPERATIONAL? A GOOD WAY OF JUDGEMENT IS TO WRITE DOWN WHAT FROM THAT SPECIFIC SYSTEM DOESNT WORK AND WHAT DOES, AND TRY TO MAKE A CHAIN OF EVENTS TO SEE WHERE THE FIRST PROOBLEM IS LOCATED AND CHECK IT AND IT'S SURROUNDING COMPONENTS, GOODLUCK

 

My cruise is all messed up too. It has worked for as long as I have owned the car, but the other week on my way back to school I went to set my cruise and the little light on the dash/gauge pod just sat there flashing at me cruise never activated or anything. I haven't had the time to check it over, but its really strange. I just ordered a FSM so I will prob be able to figure it out when that gets here. You don't know how much you miss cruise until its gone

 

Neither the alarm system nor the cruise control work at all.

When you turn on the ignition (but not crank the engine) does the security light come on? (this is a bulb check)

 

Well thanks folks for the help. I figured the alarm system out. What happened is that the trunk lock had gotten rusty and the previous owner thought that if you disconnect the magnetic sensor on the trunk door. This sensor wraps around the lock. So when I popped the panels and tugged on the wires inside the trunk door guess what came out loose. The darn sensor. I therefore removed the lock drowned it in a ton of motor oil until it gasped the last breath. I then inserted the key and worked in the oil. By the time I was through the lock was working like a finely tuned violin. I then reinstalled the lock mounted the sensor and panels. Locked the trunk locked the front door and crossed my fingers. When that amber light came on for 30 secs and went off I knew I was rolling. Tested the trigger and headlights started flashing and horn blew. What a rush. The cruise control is now my current headache and the full beam is not working except when the alarm goes off. The schematics show that the alarm over-rides the light switch. So guess what is getting replaced that darn light switch. How much does it cost anyway? to junkyard or not to junkyard. Sorry for the long blab. And thanks again for the help. Maxima.org lives
