i bought a new 1993 maxima gxe in 1993, obviously it was new...well up till the beginning of last summer, it was gone...RIP....it was the best car i had ever had...listen to this...i first had problems with my automatic, it gave me gear slippage...did ne of u guys have this problem??? so i got that fixed...then i friggin...i was going on a slight turn like around 50 mph,and i kinda jerked the wheel the car in front of me was a dumbass..and it was drizzlin, the car fricken did a 180 degree, and faced the other side of the road, and fricken hit the curb...i busted one of the the back wheel, i damaged like the whole side that got hit, fricken punctured my oil pan...and busted 2 rims...i had to pay 2500 worth of damage...thats how bad i hit that ****...i also had overdrive on...so then i got it fixed and all...then it started leakin oil then the gear slippage came back and the car was ready to be trashed...so i traded it in for a 2000 Honda Accord SE...but thank god i still have my 99 maxima SE-L...im thinkin of tradin in the accord for a 2001 maxima se...so thats all i gotta say, but i tell ya...my maxima wud have gone for at least 10 years, if this **** didnt happen....

Consider yourself blessed in getting out with only $2500 on a 50 mph accident. Still breathing and walking.

One good side impact to the front wheel will take out an auto tranny. Starts with a slight intermitant scraping noise, like hard pads against a warped or rusty rotor. Then slight grinding noise, slippage, trying to get into two gears at the same time, no engagement. Somethings it seems weather related.
