$260 for a major tune-up?!?

That's the quote I received from my local Nissan dealer.
All I want to do is change the spark plugs.

1. How much do "Nissan" spark plugs cost?
2. I know it's a popular DIY job, but can a doofus like myself do it?

Thats probably a quote for new rotor, cap, wires, plugs, belts and all that good stuff. There's now way it would cost $260 for just spark plugs. If you have a VG plugs are about 8 bucks for all of them, if you have a VE it's about 55 for all of them because they are platinum. It really an easy job you just havwe to make sure to clean the holes out before you take them out and to not overtighten the plugs into the aluminum.

Thanks!

I knew it seemed a little high...I've already done the wires and rotor.

And I only asked for new plugs.
$8x6=$48

I'm hesitant to do it myself...I've heard some horror stories.

As long as you donwn overtighten or break off the spark plugs you should be fine. I think they even describe this as something you can do yourself in the owners manual, but don't quote me on that.

Depends on Model

If you have and SE the platinum plugs are 10-11 bucks apiece and 1 hour labor for putting them in
and you at 140 to 160 without doing anything else
Dealers Suck.
