last night, i pulled up to a light, and a 95 eclipse pulled up next to me. at first i thought it was turbo, but then i saw it was a single tip exhaust. (turbos have dual tips) so i revved, like i always do. and he revved back. his car was all stock, and he had an auto. the light turned green and we were off. he pulled away from me at the start, but i caught up to him no problem. then i passed him by about a car length and a half. i was kinda surprised. that day i just put in a k&n filter, so that might have helped. i got up to about 70 and he let off. i hit my hazards with a grin on my face. then about 15 min. later, i saw this ugly zx2 pull up next to me. i hate those cars. and not to mention there was a girl driving. she had her little roxy sticker on the back. yay. (i laughed to myself) we were rolling at about 40mph, when she decided to hit the gas. so i did the same, and we were off. i stayed with her for about 3 seconds, and then i was gone. i laughed again. so i had a good night after that.

 

non turbo eclipses are sloowwww, ive seen 5 speed zx2's run even with auto vg max's at the track.

I wasted (mean WASTED) a '97 Eclipse RS 5spd. with I/H/E. He even had Z-rated tires. My first race (I launched at 5K and he did too). He hung with me for about the first 20 ft. and then I started walking which turned to pulling. he let off at the top of 2nd gear, picked up his gf and left. A modded ZX2 with at least I/E hung with me through first, they're quick if they don't have a lot of weight/options.
