Dyno results w & w/o VTCs (no pic yet)

Woohaaaa!!! Finally got the car on the dyno for a couple runs.

First run was a disappinting 166 hp/189 tq
Considering my mods I was really hoping for much better numbers, but also considering the condition of my engine Im not all that surprised.

The big surprise came when I ungrounded the VTCs and ran again for a nice 178 hp/ 189 tq!!!! A 12 WHP gain!!! (still not what I had hoped though)

Looking at the those two runs, The initial run with the VTCs grounded shows a big drop in torque at around 4.5 - 5k RPM that continues until just over 6k RPM that didnt show up when the VTCs were ungrounded. Before 4.5k RPM the runs were almost identical.

So it looks like I have my work cut out for me if Im gonna hit the 13's that I so desperately want... I wasnt able to do the Wideband O2 tuning this time around, this was more of a baseline for me anyways.

No, they are not

I had them grounded because I thought they were bad... now Im not so sure, because when I ungrounded them I didnt notice any new noises...

I paid 20 bucks for the first run and 10 per run after that (2 more for me)

sually Dyno time will run something like 50 - 100/hr I think, I got in aon a group session though.

That is very good info. I appreciate you taking the time to do this, and sharing the information with us. This draws me to a conclusion, VTC's are helpful.

That is one of those questions where we just tell you to do a search. Someone asked that same question in a thread last week.
