door panel removal question

i did a search, but i couldnt find anything. i was just wondering if there are any household products you can use to remove the adhesive after you remove the door panels. it is a b*tch to get off, and i dont know what to use. and right now my car looks ghetto with this sticky gray stuff on the side of my car.

Do you mean the moulding on the outside of the car? A.K.A door guards?

also

when i was removing the adhesive, i used a plastic putty knife to sorta scrape the adhesive off...to my surprise, the paint did not remove or chip off at all...do that at your own risk though, but it really helped getting it off!!
