Hey how do the SE 5spd 3rd gens do against newer VE 52pd max's? 95-up. Also what is the fastest maxima? The brand new 2002 ones?

 

Umm... VE Max's (VE30DE) are 92-94 SE's (3rd gens), '95 up have the VQ30DE. 2000-2K1 have the VQ30DE-K (222hp vs. 190hp). 2002 have the 255hp 3.5L VQ35DE with available 6spd. and Helical LSD, and yes they are the fastest so far. Do not under any circumstances post a thread asking how to turbo your Maxima. You will be treated with the utmost contempt and flamed for days. No one as of yet makes a turbo kit and although a few people have put turbochargers on their cars, it cost them a lot of money and many technical obstacles had to be conquered. Stillen superchargers are available but they are of questionable quality. Right now, get a y-pipe and an intake (either cold-air CAI, or popcharger). These two are the easiest (except for a Front Strut Tower Brace) mods and the y-pipe is the best hp/$ mod for a Max.

 

Yeah sorry I meant the VQ for the new max's and the VE for the 3rd gen SE's.

I was wondering How 3rd gen SE's 5spds would do against the 95-99 SE max's with 5spds.

Ive heard stock 3rd gen VE's run mid 15's and can get into 14's with allt he bolt on mod's.

 

A VE 5 speed and a VQ 5 speed are pretty much dead even. Except the VE has more on the top end, and would most likely pull a bit in 3rd. The VTC really helps the VE on the top end.
