My bad, I thought you were looking at the mods to come page, which I just figured out is not showing up for some reason. ???
The distributor cap is MSD.
I WANT to replace the entire ignition system but I guess the DIS4 is not the one I was thinking of but I know the one I need cost me $350. Sorry I'm a flake!
The distributor cap is just OEM type replacement and doesn't have any performance gain that I can tell. I don't need to replace the entire system until this summer when I get my 'ultimate mod' -

Make sense now? Sorry to confuse ya!
I had an MSD on my 510 and it seemed to be quite an improvement, worth the $275 I spent.

(510 -SR20DE swap)
I'm looking to get a 91-93 G20 and do the same thing but I can't find one around here for a decent price that isn't rusted out... ??

Re: Re: Re: Re: MSD Ignition

go for the MSD 6AL($180) with Blaster SS coil($40), shouldn't cost more than $250 or so shipped...and I'm not saying the DIS-4 won't work(eventhough I think it won't), but I've seen two owners with the MSD SCI and 6AL ignitions and they were very satisfied with the results, but you also have to consider their engines were heavily modded...so on a "bolt-on" Max I doubt there will be big gains, but every little bit helps I guess!

It's getting shaved when it goes in to the body shop for the corrosion recall anyway. That way I'll only have to pay some change to get it done. It's been painted like that for like 2 years now though and no one has ever said anything about it looking cheap...

I kinda want to shave the door moldings too. Maybe even the handles

yeah I think it looks nice too! but I undertand what N34JZ is saying also...I've seen the complete "removal and bondo" job on my friend's 3rd gen, and it looks pretty sweet!

yeah, I just sanded it down a bit, coated it with primer and had it painted to match the car, then clear coated. You can still see the contours of the piece underneath which bothers me so that is why it's getting shaved. I just didn't feel like dropping the money out of pocket when I can wait and have it done when the dealership has it in for the recall for next to nothing...
yeah, I guess I am cheap... !!
