Sun Visor

Has anyone else had their visor break on them? Mine does not have any tension, so it just hangs down. Has anyone repaired one of these, is it just a spring in there? How about a replacement? Anyone got a clue where to get one of those (cheaper then a dealer)?

P.S. I did a search

or if you don't want it down, you could use some velcro or something to keep it up there, at least for the time being. then you could still pull it down, but i'd imagine it moves around...

Yeah, I think I might try pulling it apart and seeing if it's a fixable thing. My guess is I'll be making a trip to the junk yard though. Too bad craig doesn't have a section on his page about "how to fix a broken visor".

Haha, sorry about that. I haven't had any experience with those. I wouldn't think there would be a spring or anything inside there. I think it might just be held in place by the tension of the fabric around the metal rod but maybe there are some grooves on the rod or something like that.
Velco is a good idea. They sell those little strips so you could just add a small piece to the ceiling and the other on the visor.

Yeah, I'll probably use the velcro idea. It's just that when I actually want to use the thing, it hits my forhead every time I hit a bump because it just hangs down freely instead up up next to the windshield.

I imagine that there's a spring-metal clip of some sort that goes around the rod that holds it up.
