Need info on location of Engine #

Whats up everyone, im kinda stuck in a real bad position, i found a 93 SE 5spd for 3500 but bad part is that the odometer reads 201K miles, now.....i checked out the car and the VTC's have no ticking and everything was in very good condition......now the guy claims that the engine was changed because the previous one blew and the dealer put in a new one with 70K miles, when i asked for paper work that verifies such claim, none was provided. Now I have come down to actually checking the #'s, i was told that there is a Number printed somewhere on the engine that matches the chasis, so i was thinking if the #'s dont match then we do actually have a new motor in there, now he problem is that i dont know where the # is located on the engine itself, anybody with any idea about what im talking please respond, i really want to get a 5spd VE fast and this seems like the one but i have to find out 100% if infact there was a differnt engine put in or not, thank you all for your time.....

if you're looking straight from the "back" of the engine (where the tranny is bolted on. it's the left side in the car)...

but it's just on the top of the tranny bolt circle and to the right.. it's under allll those vacuum hoses and stuff.

In that pic of my engine, it's hidden by where the big coolant hose connects to the block.
