Can I ever beat an M Coupe?!!!
#1
Ok.
My friend calls me up yesterday who I haven't seen in a year because he goes to a different college and tells me he got a new ride. I tell him I have a new ride too. He says his is a '98 BMW M Coupe! After that I keep my mouth shut. This kid is 19 years old!!!! WTF I thought I was doing well with a Maxima as an 18 year old. Oh yeah..this is his car, not his parents, not his brothers, his! We took that baby for a spin and damn it's fast. 0-60 in 4 sec.! We tested the speedo until 147mph.
Is there any way on earth I can beat him with a 3rd. gen? Will a NOS kit help any? Can I keep up?
Oh yeah, and to top his new BMW, he also got a new girlfriend who is a CK model.
For those who are still in H.S.: This is what you get when you go to an ivy league school! STUDY HARD!! It will pay off!
For those who have a stick up their a... maybe this post is kinda off topic. too bad.

First of all the M coupe does not come close to 4 sec, i dont know where the hell u got that. the new vette does 4.6. soooooo, the m coupe is well over five , maybe around 5.5 - 5.8. The 93 max is 6.7 with NOS it might come close.

Only M series that I know does that fast in 0-60 is the M-5 and I seriously doubt your friend has one of those, besides the M5 is electronically governed at 155 which even then would still toast you. As far as NOS goes, you could go with a Zex or NOS kit and keep up with him (maybe) and hope the race doesnt last that long before your bottle runs out which depending on your shot can be anywhere from 2-4 minutes. If you really want to smoke him and his expensive german car and have the money you can always invest in a NOS fogger system. Of course, all that comes with an expensive price which doesnt include the cost of mods you will have to make to your car just to use the fogger kit.

Even with a 100shot of NOS, the Max will still have a very hard time keeping up with a stock, well-driven M3.

Matt's right.. To smoke the guy you will need at least a 125 shot of NOS which means wet kit/fogger system. Hey you can always go hybrid.. Swap a 300 ZX tt engine
Don't know if its possible but you always hear talk of all these hybrid civics running around. Why let all those Honda boys have all the fun..

A hybrid Max would be a single turbo 300zx engine found in the 84-89 300zx. The 90-96 Z engine will *not* fit. Hey 92ZexMaximaSE did your Zex kit come with a blow down tube and all the other safety stuff? Would a VE30DE-T be considered a hybrid? Maybe?

0-60
I actually don't know the exact 0-60 times, 4 was just a guess. But it shouldn't be far off. The car has 240hp and weighs a pound, that should give it at least a low 5. My friend is also planning on putting a Dinon(sp?) chip and supercharger along with some other stuff. Yep, he's loaded. Once again, STUDY HARD!!!
