Beginer Tips

I wouldnt say i'm new to the maxima, my first car as a 90 GXE, had that for a year until i got my pop's 91 5ps SE (5spd SE's are god!), and i've been driving that for nearly 2 years. I've finaly got some cash saved up, and been looking to mod up my car a bit. Already got the tint, and rims. A few suggestions on what to work on first, would help out alot. I've considered exhaust, but not sure what kind i should put on. Any help would be hot, thanks.

Sorry I am not really much of a help, but I would also like to know what mod's are the best (also cheapest) to put on a Max that wouldn't shorten it's life span?

Not to sound like a total gimp, but what does the y-pipe do exactly.

definitely get one of those, unless you only drive on straight roads

It opens up your exhaust flow. Also, while you're at Warpspeed, get the CAI (Cold Air Intake) too.

MaxFAQs anyone??

I'm beginning to see a disturbing trend here. I know that most of the stickies are gone, but the MaxFAQS still exist on the main page. They basically answer ALL of the questions these newbs have, and you don't even have to use search to read them. Can we make a sticky that just says "Read MaxFAQS before asking questions". I bet it would alleviate SOME of this repetitiveness.

I AM DOWN WITH THIS TOO!

The Y-pipe makes (reportedly) noticable gains in horsepower by replacing your existing Y-pipe. However it's also a bit louder than stock, especially if you add a aftermarket exhaust. Just a small thing to remember since it doesn't look like it would add noise.

Don't expect the FSTB to improve handling like a suspension stiffener (springs, sway bars, shocks) but it will sharpen steering response and feel around corners, and IS worth it. Best thing about your '91 is that Stealth's FSTBs will fit hassle-free.
