Running no y-pipe...

I'm looking to pick up a few tenths at the track and I know the stock Y-pipe is the key to those tenths, but I don't really have the cash for a y-pipe. If I simply removed the Y-pipe and the rest of the exhaust system (I know it's going to be real loud), will I damage anything? Is this a bad idea in general?

Too much back pressure is one thing, no back pressure is another. Don't do this, the engine is so loud you'll look absolutely foolish or people might say "hey, check this dude out, sounds agressive as hell, maybe he got something up his sleeve."

Believe me man, the engine is far too loud to even think about this. You'll probably end up losing power also.

ummmm, I'm pretty sure its not gonna get an air/fuel reading at all since the pipe has been removed and exaust gas is going into the "atmosphere"!

and would hookin it up to only 1 manifold mess it up too?
im not sure exactly how it works, if its just air/fuel ratio that actaully might be fine
unless on bank is running differently than the other, which would most probably be the case
