Hmmmm......now that I look at my ECU codes, I'm thinking its different for the VE, when I get my codes I don't get numbers like that I count the light flashes on the ECU...I'm confused???

VE is different
VG has 2 lights, one red one green, each one represents a different digit with it's # of flashes

VE has one light and does a couple long flashes and then some short flashes for 10s and 1s

12=Air Flow Meter Circuit
13=Engine Temperature Sensor Circuit
33=Exhaust Gas sensor circuit

Invest in a Haynes and Chilton's manual, there worth the money. And I hope this helps

Keep also in mind that if you're fixing the car and removing things, etc., and run it or switch it to "on", you can generate trouble codes too. If you're unsure just blow the codes away and drive it for a bit so it makes fresh trouble codes.

I'm not sure if I have the VE or VG, but I do know that I have the SOCH GXE. When I tried to follow the procedure in the Haynes, it didn't go the way described. I got both green and red flashing together, and they were all about the same in duration. Plus I got codes that were not in the manual. On top of that, it says to wait for 3 flashes and then turn back counterclockwise and then read the codes. When I did that, I got no flashes at all. Can someone please post the procedure?

I agree, because Step 2 is to diagnose those sensors/controllers or check them.

If the computer spits out a error code it's telling you, "Hey, I'm getting no reading or a funny reading from this thingamabob - help!"
