So I'm Going to the Track this friday......

So far, after searching, here is what I've gotten. I'm taking out my sub, amp, and spare tire. The track is only 10 minutes from my house so I'm not worried if I get a flat. I'm not going through the water box, just going to do a quick spin of the tires. Transmission is "power" mode OD off, I'm just going to leave it in drive. And I'm planning on doing "flash stalling"(DA-MAX). O yeah, AC off, and I've read that I should run the heat full blast until I'm about to run, true?

So did I leave anything out? The only thing I dont get is tire pressure. I've 215/55/ZR16 Kumho 712s.

I just got new tires basically so I plan on being able to hook up fairly well. I've got three races lined up V-6 mustang 5 speed with mods, Ford Explorer and a 2K max. So I plan on going at least 1-2 because apparantly the stang ran a 16.0 even though one of his friends claims that he ran a best of 16.4.

Alright, I'm done ranting Lemme know if I seem like I'm prepared or not.

What about tire pressures? Also, I'm thinking about advanced timing, or is that something I wouldn't want to do for one night and return to normal?

Is it true that most cars run better when they are totally cold or just warm?

1. hold brake with left foot
2. place right foot on accel., but don't press it
3. on second yellow simulataneously lift left foot and slam down right foot

IMO, it minimizes wheelspin and tranny harm assciated with torque braking

well, I got really bored today and I started taking out my stuff. Once I got everything out, I found out that I lost about 100 pounds. Yes, I weighed it on a scale. I told you I was bored. So that's pretty good without removing anything from the interior.

drop your front tires to about 18-20psi. leave the rears higher (the less rolling friction back there, the better).

as has been said, remove the AC belt. takes 5 min.
don't bother gutting your interior- you just look like a riceboy then. Real racers don't have to gut their interior to win races.

advance your timing too. you'll need to run high octane gas (91-94 octane pump gas is fine. don't bother with race gas). you can either leave it like that from now on and continue running premium gas, or you can move the timing back to stock and run 87 octane gas without problems.

check bryan's FAQ pages for directions to advance your timing.
