a/c panel lights

Well, tonight I turned on my a/c and the panel lights went out. the sliders and button lights still come on, but I can't see any of the symbols.
So what should I do? Also, what color was it anyways? I can't remember if they were blue or green?

on the actual unit there are two bulbs on the left side, and two bulbs on top of the unit that you can replace,

I'm not sure about teh bulbs inside the AC unit but for those 2 on the left side and all the rest of the ones in the dash in all the switches, you can pick up those bulbs from any radio shack
do some searching if you want the part number. I posted it a while back but dont remember it exactly

here you go Jae
http://www.geocities.com/craigbraceg...ment_bulbs.jpg
you may have to cut/paste or sacrifice a small child or whatever geocities makes you do now to see the pic

if you cant load it, it has a pic of bulbs with 2 part numbers
one is for the stores - 272 1092
one is for online (I think) - 900 2616
the 1092 parts comes in packs of 2 for $1.49 and I've seen them even at teh small Radio Shacks they have in malls
the 2616 are a little bit more - something like $.99 each
I think they're both the same

they're called 12v microlamps I believe

Those are only for the 2 lights on teh side of the AC unit (the one above and below the lever on the left side). Take off your radio trim piece and if you look at the edge, you will see 2 small rubber rectangular pieces that pull out. Take the old bulb out (note the way the legs are bent) and then put the new bulb in and bend the legs the same way as before. Those bulbs also work in all the dash switches like I mentioned before.

I'm not sure about the ones above the vent selector switches (head, feet, head/feet, defrost/feet, defrost). But you'd have to take the whole unit out to get to those. You may be able to do that by removing the radio and then dropping it out through there.

good luck Jae

my gosh, getting to the panel was a PITA! I'll try and document everything when I put it all together...When I finally got the panel out, I was looking for bulbs...which lead me to taking apart more things that I needed to. Turns out my bulbs were ok, but not secured. I ended up replacing the lil lights on the left (cooled or warmed air flip switch).
Just to let y'all know, the background light cannot be changed from the usual green. However, The LED's in the individual buttons might be colored green, so those might be swappable. However, I got so frustrated that I didn't go that far.

The panel lights went out on mine the other night also. I gave the dash a good smack and problem solved.
