Damn, I have had my max past the 145 mark on the speedo
Though I am not sure how accurate it is.
Also, I used one of the HP calculators that uses trap speed and weight to determine WHP and it said that I was pushing 185 TO THE WHEELS with my stock 1/4 mile run (I assumed a 3300lb weight) it I plugged in 3200 it still gave me 180 WHP
Does anybody know how accurate these calculators are?

here in idaho you got 20 over the speed limit = Reckless Driving ticket.
doubling the speed limit = one hefty fine.
80-90mph over the speedlimit = jailtime.

Theoretically 5th gear for the VE should be good for 160 or so with the 6700 redline. I have had my car at 6100 (before it blew) and the speedo was really happy(way, way past 145) THe only accurate thing I have was my tach and I was prob. going about 150 based on my tack; but that was slightly downhill. When I get my car rebuilt I am hoping for an honest 150 mph.

Matt you probably aren't going 125 there. Your tach is only at 4 G; and unless you got some wierd tranny mods, I would think you probably do about 2300-2400 RPM @ 60... so that would make you going prob. closer to 105 MPH.... MY max buried the 145 speedo too, and my RPMS were 6100 while my tranny will do 2450 @60 in 5th

it hits 3000 at 92mph.. (that's according to my speedo and tach.. police radar is about 4mph below my speedo at that speed- I've been clocked at 98mph when I had been cruising for miles at an indicated 103.) this was about 3400rpm on my tach.
I know they're not enitrely accurate, but there's no way in hell I was only going 105 when my speedo said close to 130.
besides that, I had to let off the gas so I could take the picture.. when I first let off the gas, I was about 4500rpm and a few more mph past where I was when the pic was taken.
I've been through this same deal about 500 times with people trying to tell me I was only going XXX fast. you weren't there and you don't even have the same car as me.
the top speed of a stock VG is ~126mph, and my car will easily dump the 125 on the speedo.

you've got a VG engine only 160hp=125mph tops!!!! 92+ SEs have VE enigne, 190hp=145mph!!! just in case you didn't know!

I hit 135 a couple times with my 90 auto. I was to scared to go any faster because the rpms where in the red and did not want to burn the motor out. Boy is it a rush to fly by cars doing that fast. (made me feel like I was in a race)I have not gone over 100 since my accident 6 months ago. Well onece in my folks 2001 miata to see how the sp9000 held.

I bet it's 125...the fastest I could ever get my car to go cas 130...the gearing limits this (at least on my 5spd)...otherwise you're holding it in the red. If you're going any faster than this and have a 5spd (with or without and ECU) you're engine (the VG) is as good as blown...
I hit redline at about 122 in 3rd gear on my auto.. then let it shift into 4th gear and I've got lotsa of room. 
the needle was buried and I was only at 4400rpm. lots of room left on RPM, but I was out of power..

VG's can do more than people think.
Hell my VG pulls at 80 just as good as my friend 190hp Camaro. i can reel him in at any speed.
VG deserves alot more credit. And is possible of alot more than some people think.

92-94 = ve30 for the se maxima's
92-94 gxe maximas = vg30
btw da-max. the ve maxima's can do well over 145 with certain mods. nothing major. just certain ones

he has a <b> 90 SE </B> aka VG engine, you ain't seein 145 in a VG w/o NOS or major internals!!!!!! and in my post I said VG's never mentioned the VE!!

I once hit 135.. Don't know how accurate it was but I didn't care and it felt good hauling ***. Luckily I was on this backroad that has miles of straight flat driving and very few side roads and places for cops to hide. I plan on doing it again and will take a pic and post it.
I have never driven 145 or tried to go that fast. On CT I95 I always messed around with my friend and his 1990 5 Speed Pontiac Formula Firehawk which kicked my a$$ no matter what. I hit 13-35 with him on my a$$ for a white trash car it flew
