Ouchh...I kinda feel bad for him now. It wasn't his fault, was it? I hope that he was ok.

Man, that sucks! The way everyone talked I thought he was dead! I've done worse to my car! That can be fixed unless the frame was destroyed or the roof buckled. Still lousy! But, what is worse, is all times he got critisized for the one wiper deal! So....what have we learned today? ONE: No one wiper conversions. TWO: no NOS systems with a blanket that won't turn off!

nevin will post his story...but just to clarify ....the one wiper had NOTHING to do with the accident...he was cut off by an suv and forced he lost control...ended up being a hit and run...

you definitly wont get any props from me on the car damage pic. just messin. still sorry for ya. last summer i totaled 3 cars in about 2 months. i was driving like an insane person. anyways, the one the whole front was so smashed in the engine started pushing into the drivers cabin. the oil filter broke off and shot across the street. really messy. never thought so much fluids could come from one car. the others werent quite as impressive. one involved me smaching into my apartment after drinking all night(im not promoting drunk driving by any means). i think that one was the funnyest for the viewers considering it was 7am. the other one was just your standard total. ive been havin good luck with the max so far. cross my fingers. i think its cuz i love the car so much. i did almost hit a deer tonight coming home from snowboarding. it was layin in the middle of the street. i hope i never damage the max, i think i would own it forever.

It wasn't an attack on Sky, just ironic I thought. I had a women hit me once and then tried to get me to move her car for her.......uh, no! It was probably a woman on a phone that ran Skymax off the road. My '87 Max was totalled because some buisiness man on a cell phone wasn't watching. I saw him comming in my rearview and floored the gas, so I was moving when he rear ended me. Still totalled the car. The rear end had to be cut off to get my subs out. My girlfriend was hurt and had to be taken out the rear driver's side door. I also warped the steering wheel bracing for it and broke my seat!

Dayum! I've been in three accidents & one was my fault and two were not.

09/30/99 My fault: Rear ended a Ford F350 stopped to make a left turn. Damage to his truck $0.00. Damage to my car $3000.00 (out of MY pocket because I didn't have full coverage at the time! I Do now!)

07/06/00 Not my fault: A dark green (96 or 97) BMW Z3 convertible hit me while i was sitting at a red stoplight. My damage:$2400 his damage: Totaled.

11/13/00 Not my fault: A kid at my high school going too fast driving a 97' purple grandAm slammed on his brakes and slid on some sand (from the snow trucks) and hit me. My damage $400. His damage $1200. That was the day after my 18th birthday too!

People really like to hit me, y'know? I've had one other incident where someone just "slightly tapped" me, but the guy handed me $300 in cash to pay for it and I just pocketed it. Because there really wasn't any damage to my car.

He was hit by an SUV and lost control of the car and slammed into the cement divider. When they went to put his car on the flat bed it ended up ripping the whole driverside suspension out, along with everything else connected to the wheel.

That's what i remember, maybe off on a couple parts though.
and the one wiper had nothing to do with it. Nevin's setup was the correct way. People stress the wrong way.

About the one wiper conversion....

Some of you are misinterpreting my one wiper conversion. First of all, it is a Mercedes Benz wiper motor assembly w/26" blade that covers the entire window at a fast swipe at variable speeds. 2nd of all, it had absolutely nothing to do with my accident (which was already mentioned by a few people). I was hit by a Ford Explorer, sent my car into the center guard rail, spun around, and hit the guard rail again and spun some more. The driver of the Ford Explorer didn't bother to stop.. so he was long gone and I had no license plate #'s. Police Report said accident was MY FAULT. I don't have collision covered on my insurance so it is a total loss for me.

flyry110: Yes, I still want to trade tail lights. lol

Chris91SE: SkyMax Jr. is my brother.

I have no idea why http://www.generation-3.com doesn't work. I don't run the site.. someone else does. Every once in a while that site will work. I agree that David C. has a very nice max.

Welcome back Skymax! Glad to see it was only the car and not you! I was just joking about the wiper thing, I said it seemed ironic the crap you got for having it then this happened while raining, that's all. Sore spot I suppose, understandable. So, can it be fixed.....mine has been cut in two!

One Wiper Conversion

I'm interested in this mod too. Why do you do it? Is it just for looks, or is there an advantage? What is the safety concern dealing with one wiper? My Uncle has a new Mercedes convertible that has one big wiper on it, I always thought it was kind of cool, never knew what the point was though.

Are you refering to the SkyBlue max?

If so, then the answer is Yes it can be fixed.. but your looking at atleast $7K in frame/body damage and $2K in tranny damage.

I'm sorry man. I thought that maybe if the roof wasn't buckled then it could be salvaged. Your right, tranny is at least 2k and with fenders ($350 each) and everything else, it's just not worth it. Not to sound insensitive, but let us know if your going to part it out. You'll probably get another 3rd so you may want to keep some stuff. But, I know many people will be interested in a few things. I liked your car, sorry man.

Re: Re: Are you refering to the SkyBlue max?

You need to keep up with the times man... The car is gone.. it's at the junkyard. I already bought another 3rd gen. It's a Pearl White 90 SE 5-spd.

Man, I am so sorry. I HATE hit and run ****ers! I got hit in my high school parking lot when I was a sophomore (about three years ago) and he caused $2000 worth of damage and took off. I haven't had it fixed yet either. My car looks pretty bad but a bra I bought covers it up. I am getting a total body overhaul after Jan. 1. It's gonna cost $4500 to fix all the dents and dings in my car plus a new paint job. I'm gonna lose "Max" for a month. Oh man...I think I'm gonna cry! Glad to hear you got a new one though.

Hey, thanks for your comments. I really appreciate them. I consider myself lucky to have another max... but this new max won't ever be like the old max.
