not a bad year at all, well i dont think so at least. just as good as all the other years and its the newest third gen you can buy. i dont think the gle came in third gens but it might have. i'd say you had a gxe though. where all have you been to that doesnt mention those models? what were you looking for?

whats the dif. between the GLE and GXE? mine has ALL the options (leather, bose cd/tape, power moonroof, seats, locks, mirrors w/ defrost, etc.) so i thought this made it a GLE? maybe not i dunno. i just havent seen that much about this car. most third gen. sites focus on 91-93 and doesnt say too much about 94's esp. GXE or GLE. are there as many aftermarkets that i can get for this car as all other maxs? thanks

Well, the aftermarket parts for the maxima are kinda limited. You either have to:

1. Get custom work.
2. Get the very few aftermarket parts.
3. Hand make them your self. or
4. Go without.

And you probably have a GXE. I researched under the 1994 maxima ok the KBB website and found the following:

1. They only made the "94" maxima (GXE and SE) until january of 1994. From July of 1993 is when they began making the 94 model year maximas.

2. This means that the 4ths gen maximas were built beginning in may of 1995 (time in between for retooling machines). The 4th Gen maximas has GLE GXE and SE models. This is probably where you're getting confused. And anyways, your car has the same engine that the 1989-1994 maximas have because it's not an 92-94 "SE".

So you know:
1. When people say the "VG" engine that are talking about the 160 hp (SOHC) what came in all 3rd gen maximas from 89-94.

2. When they say "VE" engine, they are referring to the 92-94 "SE" maximas that have 190 hp (DOHC)

i really dont know about the gle thing. i think they only made a gxe and the gle started with the fourth gen. but regardless you can get everything that any other models can get. i guess you just dont hear about that particular very much. but you can definitly get any mods that other max's have except for engine mods that would be for the 92-94 se.

Roght...so If you see something that referrs to "DOHC" or "VE30DE" engine...than it's not for your car. You want "SOHC" and/or "VG30DE"

HE wants VG30E, I believe that the VG30DE was in some of the 300z's. The VG30DE I believe is a DOHC engine. This is just what it said in sports compact car though.

92GXE, touring wing, 18” racing wheels, Port&Polished intake, custom intake, custom yellow interior, racing seats, back seats taken out and replaced with subs and amps, NOS kit, Suspension tech. Lowering springs, custom grille, soon to be custom painted and have the whole engine rebuilt for big shot NOS and custom SC and tranny converted to 5-speed.

If you want to see the model comparisons, I have a page on my site that explains the differences throughout the years. There are only the two models for the 3rd gen Maxima (89 - 94) and they are the SE and GXE. I also have a picture of the two different engines for the 3rd generation Maxima, the VG30E and the VE30DE. As for the VG30DE it was also used in the J30, but not any Maxima for the U.S.
