The death of a Highly modded car

With a heavy heart I bring you news of a lot of used mods that just came availible. I totaled my car last night. If there is enough interest in my mods (listed in my sig) I will try to get the car back from the insurance company. Please let me know

How much do you want for the eibachs and tokico's? Like if you just unbolt them all assembled.

Dang shame to see such a nice car bite the dust. Whatever you get next will probably be better anyway.

Nooooooooooooooooooo, but I am interested in your CAI and Greddy and a bunch of other stuff. Are you still going to go to the Austin meet on the 22nd? If you are, I will have cash..............Let me know, I know others have dibs but if they back out I can come get them from you in person, no shipping. Also, are you planning on parting out the car? or are you just selling the mods.

I still miss mine

I had a black 93 SE with tan leather....she was a beauty. Every now and then I still think to myself about how that car was so great and if I could go back to that day I would have kept my eyes on the road.

FYI! There is a 96 SE 5 speed for sale in my local paper! If you're interested ask me about it. I'm sure you would give it a good home.

BTW, what happened in your wreck?

I'd like to thank everyone that has offered kind words about this situation.

I have not had the sit-down talk with the insurance company yet, but I will update this thread when I do.

As far as my condition goes, I am ok, very sore, but OK. No one was with me, and no one else was hurt.

As for the condition of the car, all the interior is intact. The engine parts are okay. The roof is bent at about a 45 degree angle.

As for what happened, well I'm not exactly sure what happened, because it happened so quickly. But I was taking a curve on an on ramp. It was kinda upward and toward the left. In the middle on the turn, I lost control, and the car flipped over. It happened so fast! I landed back on the wheels, and tried to turn the key (why?). Well I grabbed my cell phone and got out and the guy behind me had me to sit down and he called an ambulance.

When I saw the car, I noticed that the passenger side CV axle was broken in half. I think this is what made me flip it.

Well, I will be searching for another car. VE 5-speed is my first choice, put I may get another VG, just because I have become so familiar with it.

Thanks,
Jayson

That really was one hell of an accident. Glad to hear you are ok. It seems that there have been quite a few 3rd gens flip and everyone ends up ok. Hope everything goes well with your search for a new max.

How many miles were on your car? Also, what shape was/is the transmission in? It might be swap time perhaps? Let me know.

Terribly sorry to hear about your accident. Did you cry? because, I definitely would if I lost my car. But you are ok and you are getting another max. If you decide to part out your max, I would be interested in your front turn signals if they are in good condition, and I want to be in line for your UDP. Good luck!

You vultures I am too, but I'm just glad that you are okay. And it's good to know that our cars can withstand a flipping. Hopefully, everything will work out and you will have an even better can than before.

If you buy it, tell the seller he owes me a $100 finder's fee.
(the local dealers here do that, but the closest 5 spd is Kansas city!)

Actually, when I called, he said he had sold it...but that was because he had 2. He sold the auto, but has a 5-speed. I am going to check it out today. I want a VE, but we'll see how much the insurance company is offering.

good luck finding a VE 5 spd!
I called a couple local dealers that I went through last time and told them to keep an eye out for them.

there was a charcoal grey one here in town about a month ago.
also, the guy at the tranny shop has a friend with a VE with a blown engine (timing chain broke somehow), and is dumping it cheap. new tranny in it too. I'll try to get you some info on tuesday when I drop the car off to have an axle seal repalced.
