i've been told that people have used the windshield adhesive. put it on there, and put a clamp on it and allow it to cure. then go take an english class. . . . jk man.

Come on dude, use your head..get the bar clamps that have sliding heads. You slide the heads against the workpiece and squeeze the grip to clamp down..try sears, home depot, lowes..all those kind of places sell'em.

Are you refering to pipe clamps? The kind where you buy a pack of two clamps and supply your own bar for them to slide on? I don't know if those are a good choice. The distance from the bar to the clamping point isn't very far apart so you would be pinching the edge of the spoiler rather than getting centered over the end. I think a better clamping method is to get yourself two large c clamps. Plus these have more uses afterwards where the pipe clamp may not be of use to many people. Using two clamps, put a towel down on the end of the spoiler and then put a small flat piece of wood over it. Get the c clamps at either end of the wood to distribute the force over as much area as possible. You would need to do one end at a time and let it sit for a day before unclamping it to let it cure properly.

No I wasn't, I was referring to the kind that come with the bar, by the makers' of Vise grips. I don't recall the spoiler being that far in from the edge of the trunklid, so I think it would work OK, but C-clamp will work too. The key is to be patient and let that epoxy dry for at least 24 hours in low humidity, higher temps. I know this is where I usually try to test it and end up ****ing it up!

no just keep it closed...after you apply the glue or whatever adhesive you use put a towel over the trunk/spoiler and lay a brick or 2 over the spoiler edge

I used some epoxy and put a towel over it then set some weights on it until it pushed down where I wanted it.

If any of you saw the pic of my new max, you would have seen that the spoiler is flying high on one side. I pushed it down to see how it was, but it seems there has been a lot of stress in the middle of the spoiler by the brake light. So its kinda bent right around that area. It looks funny even with the end down. I guess Im gonna look around for an LED spoiler for mine.

Guys, be very careful when you just re-attach a spoiler that is coming off. Mine did on the right side, and I took the whole thing off to find out why. On the right side, both 'pins' that attach the wing to the trunk were rusted through, and had started to rust the trunk. Luckily my trunk is not bad, just a touch on the surface.

Just a friendly warning so your trunk doesn't rust through.

yeah thats one reason why I want to just replace the entire thing. Im worried about the rusting on the trunk lid. The metal inside the spoiler turned into rust crumbs.

I've been looking for an LED for my spoiler for a while now. I actually found a company that does that, but haven't gotten a response from them yet.

I bought some of the outdoor Goop. It worked great its still holding all I did was put it on the spoiler and attached it then I laid 4 bricks (on a towel) on the spoiler edges for about 4 hrs and it held fine. Whats even better about the stuff is that if it oozes out on to the paint it comes right off with your fingers.
