the holes near the radio are for the sound/noise reduction. there is a tube and a sensor conected to the back of this to moniter and help regulate the noise.

Regulate what kind of noise? static from the radio? Why would you want any kind of noise, other than that coming from your speakers, to be anything but non-existant. Doesn't make sense.

I don't mean for this to sound like a wisecrack, but...what does that first sentence of yours mean? I read it like 6 or 7 times and just can't crack the code.
What is "sylvia i plan o butting sylvia"?

I think those "vents" are for the climate control; if you have automatic climate control (option on US GXEs), then you should have some kind of sensor right behind that to check interior temp

The spot is for a switch for automatic fold-in mirrors. These come on the Silvia, a Nissan released in Japan with the same body as the 240SX. He "plans on putting Silvia" mirrors on his Max.

At least, I *think* that's what it says

it was late and i must have had my blinders on to miss that other controller. I guess for some halucinogenic reason I thought that controller chose which mirror was going to be turned. when in reality it is the **** itself...like I said it was late.

I have climate control and it's coooooool. There's a hose behind the dash which a sensor gauges the temp on the inside of the car then adjusts the temp / fan accordingly. It also tells you the outside temp when you push another button!

hey guys,

For the one thats by the mirrors its for power folding mirrors, i also though that the defrost was on the wrong side but now that I think about it, its in the stock position.

The little "vent" by the Climate Control i was wonering also but it makes sense that it would be to sense the temp.

The one by the radio, i never really knew or cared. I though it would be a nifty place to hide a microphone for cellphones. if it is for the radio to control volume, what it does is sense road noise and then converts that level into how much it should boost the volume, that way you dont have to crank it when you on the highway or when your coming on a stoplight. thats the way my stepdads surburban is, but its kinda annoying, you can shut it off though.

hope this clarifies for people, i notice that some of you didnt get your questions answered or that we strayed onto one vs. all three.
