Some clarification on Service Manuals

I called Dyment about purchasing a factory service manual for a '90 model. Manual $73 and wiring Manual $48. Do you need both? Would an '89 or '91 FSM be close enough for general use if I found one 2nd hand? Thanks.

Not sure about the answer to your question. However, FSM can be had on E-bay for a little less.

The wiring manual is less necesary IMO -- unless you are doing some hardcore re-wiring or electronic diagnostics, then it is unneeded. Also, yes, the 89 or 91 FSM should be fine -- only subtle changes were made between the years. I have a 92 and use a 94 FSM, with no contradictions so far.

have you seen the wiring manual? I don't expect it to be much diff from the FSM. Maybe they have the circuitboards to specific parts like AC panel or Window control button panels.
Some guy on ebay just sold a buncha manuals for cheap. Many went for $20+ship. Some of the maxima ones went for $40, but I thought that was too much. I bought my 93 Altima FSM for $35+ship last year. Just bought a 96 Altima FSM for $20 shipped (my gf drives a modded 95 Altima).

Ebay is a great resource and I'll watch for a manual knowing that 88-94 will probably work for most tasks. Thanks for all who have responded.
